FAROFA CARIOCA

“Moro no Brasil - O Show”

An explosive fusion of rhythms, flavors, and stories

Original lineup and new lead singer Mário Broder

The band that launched Seu Jorge’s career presents a show that feels like a true celebration, marking the arrival of the album Moro no Brasil (“I live in Brazil”) on digital platforms 27 years after its original CD release. An album that remains strikingly relevant in both concept and message—with hits like São Gonça, (Pretinha) and A Carne (made famous by Elza Soares)—and that flaunts its versatility by blending rhythms and styles, culminating in a fiery, dance-driven show that, as the name suggests, is the one and only Farofa Carioca.

Renowned for its powerful horn section, intense percussion, tight bass and drum grooves, sharp acoustic guitar and

cavaquinho tones, charismatic singers with strong personalities, biting social criticism, and the signature humor of Rio

de Janeiro, the band also brings a DJ and a VJ on stage to set the party vibe and project visuals and graphics on giant

screens during the performances.

More than just a performance, Moro no Brasil – The Show is a full experience that moves audiences from head to toe:

from Samba to Soul, from Funk to Ijexá, from Rio to the world—with groovy reinterpretations of MPB classics and

playful, provocative original songs. It’s barbecue with farofa, guitar with cavaquinho, drum circles with beats, barroom

philosophy—all in the same pot. It’s Rio de Janeiro feeding the people with rhythm, joy, poetry, and Brazilianness. This

show is an invitation to everyone who recognizes themselves in the beauty, contradictions, and power of the Brazilian

soul.

“We’re back with the same strength and musicality as ever, throwing a party full of swing, joy, and protest, without losing our sense of humor,

” says Gabriel Moura, who now shares the spotlight with new lead vocalist Mario Broder.

The setlist features hits such as Moro no Brasil, Bebel, Doidinha, São Gonça, Jacaré, and A Lei da Bala in their

original arrangements, fresh takes on Brazilian soul music classics like Casinha de Sapê / Na Rua, na Chuva, Na

Fazenda (Hyldon) and Quero Ver Você no Baile (Paula Lima, written by Gabriel Moura and Seu Jorge), plus plenty of

surprises. In addition to the 12-piece big band, the show also features DJ Mohamed Malok with live samples and VJ

Ricardo Muralha commanding the visuals. Uh Farofaê!
